Fanhouse Locked Message Redesign

Client

Fanhouse

Role

Product Designer
User Experience Researcher

Duration

4 days
As part of my hiring process at Fanhouse, I was tasked with redesigning the app's locked messaging experience. The challenge was relatively unbounded, with the scope being my own to determine so long as it improved the overall experience and showcased my abilities as a designer. When the company's CEO briefed the challenge to me, he told me that he was interested in making the experience "less transactional and more authentic". With this, I decided to conduct a full research study in order to validate this hypothesis, including a survey and series of user interviews. In my findings, I rejected the dichotomy of "authentic' vs. "transactional" and redesigned an ideal system which embodied both values, presented alongside my research. In the end, I received an offer for a full time position at Fanhouse, where I am currently working on implementing solutions such as these (and more) into the live application.
